In ancient Greece, mimesis was an idea that governed the creation of works of art, in particular, with correspondence to the physical world understood as a model for beauty, truth, and the good.

while I was I was in the process of imitating the beauty of the young girl sitting in the chair in front of me I became aware that the flowers and leaves drawn in the drapery behind her were from the mimosa tree,  and decided to call the painting "Mimesis with a young girl and mimosa ".
