Fort boyard from ile de oléron
I have painted this painting on the island of Oléron,
The sky was incredible with those insane clouds.
If you want to go to a place that the weather changes a lot go to Oléron , we had rain, sun, waves, you name it, but paradoxically it is this kind of weather that usually produces the best paintings.I am fascinated by sun light and I try to capture it in paint. Light is as important for a painting as sound is for music.
most of my paintings are premier coups (one shot paintings) / alla prima, there are many other terms that are also relevant like plienair-paintings but as a visual person I try not to get caught up in the literal or verbal definition.
occasionally I work on the same painting for several sessions , they are all done on the spot in the nature observing the landscape and the changing moment.( Sam Rachamin Copyright)
